She did great at church! Sydney was going through a growth spurt so she was hungry about 2 of the 3 hours! I spent most of church inside the mother's lounge talking to other new moms! It was a new experience sitting in one of the chairs, holding my daughter and listening to the speakers. I cannot wait till next Sunday. All in all, Sydney did terrific!Saturday, April 17, 2010
Sydney's 1st sunday!

Sydney loved Easter! We decorated eggs, celebrated the resurrection of Jesus Christ and just had fun! The Easter bunny even left tracks throughout the house!
Easter is my favorite holiday. It's a time for love, reflection, strength, and growth. The real reason for Easter is not just about the coloring of eggs or a new dress. It is when our Savior made it possible for all of us who come to Earth to return to our Father in Heaven. He loves us, so He sent His son to die for us. When Christ was on the cross, he asked in prayer for Heavenly Father to forgive those who killed him. Let us all remember we are all children of God. We are forgiven many times through out our lives. I am going to try to be more forgiving towards others and love more often! Happy Easter!!!

Our precious moments!
Our bay girl arrived on February 28, 2010! I went to my doctor the previous Monday with the idea of pleading with her and manipulating my way to get the baby out of me. I had been to the hospital 3 times with incredibly strong contractions, but my body would not dilate. I was frustrated and irritated that I was in labor for about 2 weeks without any results. Thank goodness my doctor is incredible and sympathetic towards me. She told me she would induce me on Sunday morning at 2 am at Southern Hills Hospital! I was ecstatic! I couldn't wait to hold my little girl and finally meet her! I still cried on our way out of the office to the car. I was in so much pain. I just wanted to be done! Mentally I was done about 8 months before!
That last week was long, but my mom came up to help us prepare to get ready! When Sunday morning came, Chris drove home from work and loaded up our car. I had my huge water bottle in hand and was still having regular, strong contractions about 5 minutes apart. I was dilated at 3.5 when we first arrived at the hospital. My whole family minus Dad, Nat and Grandparents came up and had arrived in Vegas right before I needed to go check in. They were planning on meeting us at the hospital in a few hours after I had gone through most of the labor.
The nurses were terrific. My labor and delivery nurse was Janet. She was also our birthing class instructor. I felt incredibly comfortable with her.
Janet put the i.v. in my right hand, got the monitor hooked up and kept me pretty calm... until I started really feeling the contractions. At around 8 am, she told me I was about a 7 and if I wanted an epi I would need it at that point since the anesthesiologist would be m.i.a. starting at 9 am. I decided to get the epi and was so glad with that decision. After, right after 11 am, I started to push and after less than 10 pushes, Sydney joined our family at 11:38 am. She was a whoopin 6lb 4oz and 18 inches long! She was so beautiful!
Everyone came into the room. Chris and I had amazing emotions we had never previously experianced. Benselee, Amilynne, and Jennifer witnessed Syd's arrival! It was beautiful! We left the hospital Tuesday afternoon!
